    About Us

The St. Thomas Elgin Food Bank has been committed to feeding those in need since 1986. Their dedicated team of staff and volunteers are able to provide much-needed assistance in dealing with food insecurity within our community.
Their mission is to feed those in need and continue to advocate for solutions to end poverty. Our food bank receives no government funding, rather they rely totally on donations from local organizations, businesses, and individuals. Together, with your support they can work to feed our community and end hunger in our city.
They provide a diverse nutritious food basket every 21 days to their clients in need. Their vision is to see that no one should ever go hungry.
Community Individuals and families are turning to them for assistance in record high numbers. What exactly does hunger look like in your community? Almost 9% of the City of St. Thomas and outlying areas accessed the Food Bank in 2024. That means that almost 1 in 10 people are struggling to put food on their table.
To illustrate the increased demand, in 2020 they logged 8,920 visits, jump forward to 2023, they logged a staggering 19,424! Then, in 2024 the numbers increased to a record-breaking 24,949 visits!
They have continued to feed the need in our community through challenges such as COVID, a sudden move to a new location, and inclement weather conditions. Our food bank is available all year-round to provide much-needed service to those most vulnerable in our area.
Your support is always needed and deeply appreciated.
