About Us

Located in the historic 1913 Michigan Central Locomotive Shops, the Elgin County Railway Museum is home to the CN 5700 steam locomotive, rolling stock and a wide variety of railway artifacts, photographs, equipment and the History in Motion railway exhibit.
They are part of the Railworks Coalition, a community group of railway heritage properties that have come together for the joint benefit of preserving and protecting St. Thomas and area's rail assets.
They coordinate the efforts of the Museum, as well as the Canada Southern (CASO) Station, the Iron Horse Festival and the St.Thomas Elevated Park.
