About Us

#31 CER (Combat Engineer Regiment) is a Canadian Forces Reserve unit of the Canadian Armed Forces known locally as ''The Elgins''. Soldiers working from a facility known as The Armoury on Wilson Avenue, St. Thomas are both full-time and part-time. Reserve Force personnel voluntarily participate in extensive personal development and training programs locally, and at military bases throughout Canada, learning skills relevant in both military and civilian environments. Local personnel have a distinguished record of service in overseas Canadian peace-support operations. Formation of The Elgins took place September 14, 1866.
